Current Activities

In October of 2021 B-HARP was granted additional funding from the San Luis Obispo Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) in the form of an MHSA Mini Grant. The additional funding was allocated to the project due to it's previous success and potential for expansion into other populations in the community. The one-time funding will bolster the program through June of 2022 and has made significant increases in B-HARP programing and outreach. 

The most frequent feedback we receive from community partners, training participants, and SLO County Officials is that the benefit of B-HARP should not be limited to K-12 Populations. B-HARP will be expanding its network and programming to include adult populations. A spring 2022 training will bring in new consulting experts who focus on Adult Threat Assessment and provide participants with the necessary skills to apply threat assessment practices in the workplace, institutions of higher education, and the community at large. 

B-HARP will also be utilizing the additional funding from the MHSA Mini Grant to bolster out K-12 threat assessment programming. We are conducting a Spring 2022 K-12 Training for new community partners and Level 1 Site Teams. Additionally, B-HARP is providing training presentations to teachers and staff, educating them on warning signs and reporting methods.
